Ive read in the FAQ and in past threads that if I want to change my front bumper (sedan of course ) to the MP3 or MP5 one I have to change the following:

Rebar,
Front Wheel Well.

Now I was told that changing the rebar is a simple bolt-on operation but how do you change the wheel wells?

Or is it even necessary to do so? I mean, the stock ones will be shorter but does that even matter?

 

It matters for structural rigidity and so you don't get water and muck up inside the engine compartment. And also assists rusts.

Just order the MP3 wheel wells. Those will be the correct length. And again a simple bolt-on procedure.

 

Woud you happen to know the price of those wheel wells? If not Ill go see the dealer.

bumper - 360
Rebar - 275
Paint Match - 200
Fog Lights - 180 for imitation

They'll fit the same spot. And they actually provide light rather than just asthetics.

And you sure you can't get that rebar any cheaper? I can get it for $150 here. I'd check your dealer on that.

 

Just got off the phone with the dealer... here are the prices in Canadian:

Reinforcement barI think this is what a rebar is) 360$
Front Bumper: 376$
Front Wheel well: 67$ X 2
Fog: 245$
Colour match and install is 225$

Now it seems to me that dealerships arent very consistent with prices. And I asked about the MP3 skirt kit for the sides and he said it was something like 800$$ I think he was a little crazy on that one.

Now I know that MP5 and MP3 bumper are different but arent the side skirts the same? They look the same to me, but I dont know of anyone personally who owns either of these cars.

 

Side skirts are the same on both.

Man the price of that rebar is nuts. And yeah it's the reinforcement. Try a different dealer in a nearby city.

Other prices seem on par.

Don't get the color match done by Mazda though. Get an outside body shop to do it. They'll be cheaper.
