What kind (brand) of Amp to get these days

I was just wondering what kind of amp people would reccomend for a ported box with 2 10" JBL's. I have my old amp that I think is blown installed under my seat. It's a really sweet setup and could hold a pretty large amp (not that I need to get a big one, just isn't a limiting factor) so what brands are people liking? I know there will be a lot of different opinions but that is good! Tell me what you like or dislike about your amp and what kind you would buy now if you could do it again.

PS I was thinking of a Rockford fosgate. They are pretty cheap on eBay right now.

How big of an amp would I need for 2 10's wired in series. I think it's series. Damn been so long since I built the box and installed them. I hooked the speakers together then have one wire coming out of the box.

Thanks for the input!

Good advice. Right now i have a Clarion bridged at 380 rms oging to a 2 ohm boson competator. IT is good, but the clarion keeps on over heating and the shop says that the heat safter things keep on shuting it down. So tonite i oreder an Aduibahn amp off of Ebay. YOu can get some really cheap audio bahn stuff from the net right now. It is 800 watts arms X 1 into 2 ohms and i'm hoping that will make it abit louder. RIght now i only have audio components in the front and haven't used one of there amps but if they are anything like the speakers it would be a good thing to look into.

class?

So I guess brand is too subjective. I would like to know what type of amp in regards to Class that would work best to push 2 10's wired together. I also don't know how to figure out what ohm load I'm putting on my amp. I have 2 10" JBL LC's.

Thanks,

Jon

K, I think that 2 2 ohm subs in series puts it up to 4 ohms and if you put htem in parallel its 1 ohm. If you could find a 1 ohm sub it would give you alot more power
