What is good speakers to replace the stock ones?
It depends on your budget and what you hope to achieve. If you're just looking for better sound, its been said that 'anything is better then stock'. I completely agree. I threw a 6 year old set of pioneer 6.5" coaxials in the back, and a set of audiobahn 5.25" components that I got on clearance for $55 in the front. The sound is really good... just not quite loud enough, but I'll take care of that later. The stock speakers are complete POOP. I've seen better cardboard on 3rd grader's art projects.
i was on a budget so i got clarion 5x7 plate speakers SRC5794's couldn't be happier, im gonna add 2 clarion 10" DVC subs and a 400w amp (dunno what brand yet)

[1] How much do you want to spend?
[2] Will you be adding an amp or sub?
[3] What kind of sound do you like?
My answer to #1 was "not very much" and to #2 was "yes on the amp, no on the sub". I auditioned everything I could find in the middle-low price range and ended up with JBL GTOs, which I like a lot. They sound very much like the Infinity Reference line.

i originally had the 3-way, but it was too deep for the door, so i went with the 2-way. honestly tho, rear fill is not really necessary. i just did it so that there weren't any "holes" in my car. but then again, now that i have a "theatre" in my ride, the rear-fill worked out just fine.too bad you don't live in hawaii. i rarely sell my stuff. i usually give it away when i'm done, and my brother usually gets first dibs, then my friend will. i had an autotek eq for 2 months b4 getting a gs designs eq. so down the chain my stuff went. brother got autotek, friend will got his (used to be mine) kenwood eq.
oh yeah, it's really not necessary to match components, altho i believe that some stuff work better together. like i wouldn't mix and match spkrs (front/rear), based on the difference of sound quality btwn spkr brands.
i just tried to get it all looking nice.

hehe, i never heard my stuff b4 i bought it. i bought everything sight unseen. there are no fusion sellers/dealers in hawaii, so i was super nervous when installing it, hoping it wouldn't sound too bad. but damn, i was pretty surprised at the outcome!
yeah, buying blind is scary, but you're twice as happy if it turns out good!
