what color calipers
#18
i'm sorry, i feel like a terd for asking this, but:
aren't the calipers already silver? they look silver to me! what colors do you guys see? they almost match my stock non-shiny rims. i was going to paint them black (i have a midnight blue p5 also). just haven't gotten around to it yet.
sorry for being a moron.

Thanks for the compliments. I painted the brakes myself using a brush. The brush that came with the kit wasn't high-quality. The hairs kept falling out. So I went to an art supply store to get 2, one wide (for coverage) and one sharp (for details).
This type of paint works really well with brushes because it's almost like liquid rubber and it cures for a while giving it time to flow and smooth out brush tracks. When it's cured, it feels like hard rubber, not paint. I put on three coats.
TIP: Paint only the visible areas. No need to wasted time on areas you can't see.
This is the glossiest paint I found for brakes. I personally think it looks better than the spray types, since these just look like paint.
I got the paint here:

BTW, those are Ferrari sidemarkers. I couldn't afford a whole Ferrari, so I just got these. Some people like them, some people don't. I like them because they're understated and functional.
Cheers!

I finally painted my front brake calipers today and I gotta say, They look killer!
To paint them, First I took a wire bristle brush and cleaned both front calipers thoroughly. Then I took a can of red 1500 degree Duplicolor($4.95) and a clean Big Gulp cup, then I stuck the top of the spray can into the cup's top and sprayed the paint right through the lid's straw-hole to kill overspray. Worked great.
After that, I just jacked the car up, took the wheels off, sat down on it's rim&tire that was now handy, and started brushing, using a small paint brush and my big gulp cup with the red paint in it. I took my time and put like 4 coats on. Once I was done with one side, the other was dry, so I just kept rotating. The paint is nice & glossy now, and my calipers look pretty fricken cool when the wheels are spinning.
Definately a cool and easy mod!
Tomorrow, the rears!
The next day, God willing, I'll figure out how to post pics.

caliper color
With the blue I would go with either red yellow or gold but it does depend on your wheel color, but is also depends on what knid of theme you are going with. Go with what ever makes you feel comfortable. That's my perscription for you. Dr. Zoom

Did a single kit provide enough paint to do all 4 calipers?
