Weather stripping

Anyone know how to remove the weather stripping on a second gen?? I figured out how to take out the piece on the inside of the door panels, the part that rubs against the glass. It was dirty as hell, I figure thats probably one of the reasons that my windows never stay clean for more than an hour or so after I clean them. Do I need any special tools?
Or do I need to take the windows right out?? I really want to do the stuff around the window frames the most, but can't seem to get it out where there is that plastic thing that sticks outside the window on the 2 front windows.
