Hey all! I've been interested in puttin a body kit on my 2001 Protege LX, and had a questions/concerns.

Body Kit 1

BOdy Kit 2

Personally id rather purchase #1, but does that only fit on the MP3? i thought they had the same body styles. Thanks for any help! Oh and does anyone know where to get them the cheapest

Why not just put the MP3 parts on, they are urethane instead of fiberglass. Also, you will need to get a few other parts either way, such as the wheelwells, the bumper rearbar.

You're not. That thing is hideous. Especially from the side. G-E-T-T-O.
BTW, why the heck doesn't anyone make a simple body kit for the current sedan. I have a 2001 ES and I'd be over-joyed with a nice clean front lip and side and rear skirt package. I don't wanna look like a P5 damnit.

I'm not sure why no one has made a front lip. Someone posted something about DG motorsports releasing new stuff for the protege, but I'm not sure if a lip was one of them.

Update! this is the post:

Hey folks,

Looking for Fog Lite kit for 2001 LX 2.0 Sedan. Want to replace those useless "blank cutouts" in the lower grill. A couple years ago Mazda offered fog lites for those cutouts. Then they dropped the item from the accessory list. The Euro 323 equivalent nearly always has fog lites and I'm not sure if they are the same fit or if so where to get them. Don't really want aftermarket PIAA type stuff, its not as clean. Also don't wan to replace the entire front end with MP3 stuff. Just looking for simple mod. Anybody got ideas? Mean Gene

Mazda still offers foglights for those cutouts. I think it is a $220 option. If you look at www.mazdastuff.com or www.mazdaformance.com they should have them for a little less.

As for a body kit. Get the side/rear skirts and the front lip that mazda makes.
