While cleaning the interior of my car saturday, I was reminded of my thought that the previous owner of my car must have had large talons for finger nails. The shift cover plate (yes I have an auto-tragic), and cup holders are very scratched up. To remedy this, I am going to re-paint the interior parts, but I'm torn on what color to paint them (along with the guage cluster).

Things you should know about the car:

It's black (obviously), it has the base black with crazy design fabric seats,

The choices I have come up with are:

Silver (i.e. same or close to color that comes standard)

Dash matched (sort of) dark grey

Blue (A flat blue with a metallic flake and a flat clear)

White ( may have some pearl in it )

Black (see above... Black pearl is cool if done right)

or post your suggestion.

I think stock would look best, but it's your car, and your choice.

Where I live, if someone paints their interior plastic, it's usually metallic purple over baby blue or some crap, so it's tough for me to imagine it looking good in any other color than stock, or near it.

I like the silver, but my only problem stems from the extremely stark contrast on the window switch plates. There's all this dark color, and then one small spot of silver.

I can dig up pics of my current setup.. which is mostly black.. the only silver piece is the driver's side window control trim piece (yes, I painted the passenger side one months ago lol)

and yes the door handle sticks out like a sore thumb, as do my gauges.. I haven't had time to take that aluminum panel apart and make it black.

just buy a new shift plate, I think they're pretty cheap (don't quote me on that)

I vote for stock silver or black. Anything else just wouldn't look right.

By the way .. if anyone wants a spare cluster to use for painting .. I have one. It's got a white background, MPH, manual, from 02 P5. PM if you want it, I'll let it go cheap.

Shifter --twm gen 1 short throw
**** - greddy counterweighted (black chrome)
boot - black leather, silver stitching by 'shaundarbie' on the other forum --dunno if he still does them. I had black/red for the shifter and e-brake boot, sold them to Rogue from the other forum, picked up the black/silver from Altspace (also on said forum).

Really good quality! I think they were sold through a web site at some point, not sure though. Specially tailored for short throw shifters, though a model for the stock shifter was available I think.

I always wanted to do my silver parts the same color as my car's color (22k).

The dark red would be smooth and subtle enought o not look ricey (I hope!).

As for a black car, it's tough to add any color, as it may look out of place. White black and silver and your best bets.

Phil B. (aka jdm-p5) on here actually replaced his stock atx shifter with a mtx boot and **** and it looked pretty nice. We had to modify it where you pushed the **** down to get it out of gear but it looked like a mtx otherwise.

I vote for white with a pearl flake though, but they may be the WWP MS6 speaking to me.
