Thinking!
Okay, as you might have gathered, I've been thinking more about alternate deck options. Continued thinking on my part...
Sony- They have pretty much the same color scheme as the OEM amber interior lighting, but I've heard their stuff sucks, so I don't think I'll go Sony.
I'd still like to go double DIN, just to cleanly fill the space. They also have slightly larger displays, which might be cool to have. The cassette option is still something I'd like to have, even though I know tapes are pretty old technology, and double DIN decks are pretty much all cassette/CD systems.
Given all of that, I've been looking at the JVC KW-XC770. It's double DIN, has cassette, remote control, and also looks to have a handy large volume/tuner ****-- Something I liked about the OEM deck. I found a web site selling one for $249.88 plus $15 shipping; $264.88 total. That doesn't seem bad.
Anyone heard anything, or have any experience with, the JVC KW-XC770?
No matter what deck I get (or if I by chance stick with the OEM one), I'll still be getting new speakers.
Thanks guys!

Sadly, the biggest factor for me in finding a new deck was matching the dash lights too. I ended up getting the Alpine CDA 7876. You can switch between Amber or Green lighting. I don't know how good the colors match cause I just got it and haven't tracked down a wiring harness to get the thing installed, but i'll let you know how it turns out. My runner up choice was the JVC SH99 or SH77. They're loaded with features and have nice color schemes. I think the red lights on those decks are more red than the dash lights though, also The deck is an aluminum color, and are center consoles are more of a pewter color, not a good match there. I've been debating about whether or not I should paint my center console. That's an expensive mistake if I don't like the results though. Good luck, let us know how you do. I'll post some pics when I get mine done.

it will cost you about $270 to replace it.
The kenwood MP8017 deck has a green or red option as well. It matches perfectly.
don't ask why its blurry please. But you can see the colors match perfectly.
