switches for accessories...

Ok... lately i've been wanting to build a little 'switch board' type thing in my ride for all my accessories (interior neons, fog lights, etc) but I'm having some trouble finding *good looking* switches for cheap online. The local radio shack and auto stores have those massive big ugly stick switches. bleh. i'm lookin for something simple. something similar to this (Image borrowed from remingtoncoachcraft.com) I like this, but it's like $13 for one. ;[ Anyone have any ideas or done this before?

If you don't want the red square you can hit your local car audio places. I had a shop here put my amp power cut off right in the dash next to my fog light switch. Try NAPA too. They have a good selection of switches. Maybe Carquest also.

If you need momentary switches, SPAL has some killer switches. Solid and built to last. I use them with power doorlock kits and power window kits. They're also illuminated. I don't see any rocker switches in the catalog though, so probably not a good choice...but what about finding factory on/off switches and making a plate with those....? The rear defroster switch would be a good choice, as it's built to handle higher current. Factory look, with a creative custom look, illuminated and you could even go as far as re-screening them with FOG LIGHTS, NEONS, etc....

Mxyzptlk: I haven't checked Napa yet, but i'll head over there tomorrow.
Darryl: the defog switch would be perfect for what I want... but where can I get switches like that? ;[ That's my only problem, is finding them! ;D
Thanks for the quick replies.. if you happen to run across anything like this, pm me or respond to this. :]

I agree with the factory switches part. If NAPA doesn't have what you are looking for; try the junkyard pick and pulls. Just go car to car take what you want.

It took me awhile to find a protege here locally, as a defrost switch is a pocket part but i'm sure you can find 3 or 4 switches with 5-7 phone calls. Look in your yellow pages under salvage or wrecking yards...they have a network to find them all.

It might sound cheap, but I get my switches at WalMart. They have similiar to what you want, but the whole swith it illuminated when turned on. It cost me $1.87. Trust me, check it out. They have some good switches there.
