No need to thank me, I should be thanking you guys for accepting me (an Acura owner) on your forum!

I have the reference 6.5 components up in the front. I read through www.mmxpress.com and looked up the Image Dynamics subs and it looks good. The only problem is that the site says that all the ID series are unavailable. I was looking at a 4 channel amp so I could power my front speakers and a sub. I'll probably look into the US Acoustics amp.

onehawaiian-I knew it! You are from Hawaii! hehe. What places would you recommend for the subs? Buying locally would be better since there would be no shipping costs! Are there any stores that carry the image dynamics subs so I could sample it? Also, do you have any recommendations for the install of a sub and amp? I heard installtech is pretty good with the installs.

autophile1 & onehawaiian:Thanks for being so patient and helping me. I really appreciate it!

I may have a bunch of brand new unused Dyn's for sale within the next month or two. Let me know when you are ready to buy. All of that gear in my sig is not yet installed. I was about to get started this summer but then I found out I may be using my car as a Brax show car. If that is the case the Dyn's will be for sale... I will keep the Velodyne's forever though

You should be looking at the IDQ series not the ID series...

I loved my Infinity Perfect 10 sub - even though I blew it up .

My fault - not enuff airspace, a bit too much power, blah, blah blah.

BUT - I just got myself a pair of the Kappa 100.3's (I got the DVC version). I got them for - $96 on eBay - not the $135 you saw. I bought two - $220 shipped to my door (~$15 shipping each) - not bad at all.

I'm a big fan of Infinity for SQ - they sound awesome, and have good power capability.

One warning - I would NOT buy from etronics.com! Some people have had good experiences with them, but PLEASE read some reviews if you can - they have more horror stories than anyone I've ever seen - something like 70 complaints to the BBB in the past two years - that's a LOT of complaints, considering how many people probably never complain to the BBB.

I know they have good prices, but a good price sux if you don't get what you paid for, or are chasing the company for weeks trying to get your shipment. Be careful!

With a budget of $400, you can do VERY well for a sub. First, check out JBL amps - the best bang-for-the-buck going these days. I think the 600.1 is around $250, and gives you lots of options. Run a single 4 ohm sub at 300 watts, a pair at 600, etc, etc. Solid purchase.

For a sub with that, the Kappa 100.3 would do nicely. What I would do is choose wisely - get an amp that puts out the same power RMS as the sub's RMS power handling, and you'll do great. Keep it within a few watts (like 10%) either way, use the proper size enclosure, and you'll do well.

Also, check out www.edesignaudio.com - they have a new line of subs coming out very soon, and are very reasonably priced. I have heard nothing but great things about them.
