Spoiler LED

I bought my protege in 2000 stock. Wih the years, I added stuff which one of them included the STOCK spoiler with LED which I absoultly love and enjoy having. Now, to increase the perfection of the protege, I was wondering if the following could be done to the spoiler

Could I remove the Red covering, replace the bulbs inside to red and insert a silver/white covering glass?

the most resembling spoiler is on the Mazda 6.
the spoiler has no 'red' covering, but a 'clear/white' covering and red bulbs

Thanks in advance!!!!

p.s. please visit the cardomain site, you guys will enjoy what is in page 10....trust me!!!

I see what you're saying, but I've never seen it done before. I like the idea though.

I would think it would be easier to replace it. Once you have the plastic covering, most LEDs that I have seen are red to begin with. Great idea.

I guess, maybe try the mazda 6 LED

or maybe somebody may custom build them just for us?

Is it possible you can remove the LED cover
and "bleach it"

I know that isn't the right term
but, I don't think the Mazda6 LED cover will fit
and I don't see any aftermarket for them at all
I have for the past day searching the internet
hopelessly for them

Hmm, maybe making a mold would do the trick and then you could form if out of some sort of plastic. I dunno, thats a toughie.

Might I make a suggestion? I was thinking of doing this exact same mod last year but never got around to it. I found a place on the net that sells clear lens LEDs. I tried looking for the exact size and shape with no luck. You could buy one and MAKE it fit if they don't sell our sizes(regular factory spoiler and MP3 spoiler) but if it doesn't work you've wasted your money. I guess I'll be the guinea pig and see if it works unless someone beats me to it.

Here's the link:

In the picture they're red, don't mind that.

Here's a few pics of a guy with an Acura TL who did the swap.

This is what it looks like lit up

Hope this helps.

So it would be for the whole assembly including the actual leds? A rough idea of price and then I'll decide.
