The only other HU that even compares to mine is my friends Nakamichi HU... sounds like a shity brand and no one has ever heard of 'em but they are damn nice... they dont look pretty but they rank up there... I would say they are 2nd to Alpine

SoundStream took around a month mostly do to shipping from east coast to west coast. All others took roughly 3 to 3 1/2 weeks to fix. Sony, if you wanna go there, would go and take the least amount of time, but it would come back with the same problem if not some thing new.

ok so i guess i'll just tell him to get an alpine instead.. i knew they had problems but didnt know it was that bad...
Alpine is bad too or atleast with speakers... my 5.25 type r's screwed up... the installer called it a frozen cone... bassically the wires from voice coil to the cone welded themselves to the vent pole and it wouldnt move at all... i waited like 4 months for it to come back and the store just decided to give me a new set... so i have a pefectly good type R 5.25 spare in my garage(they only sent in one for some reason)

I have only seen a subwoofer that had a frozen cone. I would like to have seen that one (the coaxial) like that. At the shop I worked people would trade up for better woofers and the manager would have us stick bare wires in wall outlets to fry the voice coils ((((BBBBRAAAPPP!!!!))))) I saw it done once and told them not for me! If you want to do it, do it yourself! Something about that noise sends chills up my spine. Have you done that or had to do that 1st MP3? I always envisioned me getting electricuted trying to do that! You have to have the right timing or it'll completely rip apart the cone! Owner was a con man if you ask me. Pioneer IMPPs were nortorious for cracking cones when **** like this was done do to woofer composition.
