shift boot removal

Hello Everyone,

Has anyone tried to remove or exchange the factory boot cover for a better one?

How would you go about it? Would you have to remove the whole center console or is there a more simple way to change the boot cover?

Please respond with any advice.

Thanks

This has been discussed before. I would do some searching. There used to be some pretty good instructions. Try looking at short shifter installation information.

There are 4 screws that hold the boot in place. 2 of them are accessable from the top, but the other ones are on the bottom. You will have to remove the entire center console to get to them. There are about 8 screws holding the center console in. It's very simple to do.
