Seat covers

I was thinking about gettin some seat covers ( i don't have the $ to get racing seats or anything) but because of the side air bags i heard that they weren't recommended or something along those lines. Does anyone have seat covers or know whether or not I should get some?

Thanks

seat covers are NOT recommended for side air bag seats....big problems will be had if you try to use them.

http://www.wetokole.com they make Side airbag compatible seatcovers. Infact and ex-member of here (eggynatey) is the car who's pic is on their front page right now I think. He as the one whop initially pointed me that direction.

if you want to do something a little nicer, check out www.katzkin.com katzkin leather is the bomb and they use special stitching on the sides of the seats that have airbags.

p.s. i have katzkins in my car

When you go to the katzkin site, click on the autoleathers.com section and it will allow you to pick your style, colors, etc. & prices to your door.

eh well....it's a secret

no, actually the dealership had already installed them as a "special package" and since we had the insider/employee discount...it didn't amount to very much.

lol, thanks for the heads-up Poseur!

I'm still here and so are the Wet Okoles. After two+ years of sand, salt, wax, dirt and dog hair, they are still as good as new! I use hair shampoo to clean them and so far they're holding up unbelievably for what I put them through. 100% satisfied.

(For the record, that really is my letter that I sent them about a year and a half ago.)

I think it says something on the side of the seats like SRS?

I just checked the mazda3 brochure for Canada and it doesn't list side air bags either, so I'm pretty sure that the Canadian proteges didn't come with side air bags I know my 2002 didn't come with it and I don't remember anyone saying that the 2003 made the change to offer that........are you talking about airbags in the dash or air bags that protect from side impacts?
