To sand or not to sand.....
I finally worked up enough courage to paint my interior. I got the paint from jcwhitney.com. The final product was ok i guess but i wanna work on the details. My question to everyone who has done interior painting is....did you sand or just prime and paint?y?what do you recommend... Also any advice on how to correct mistakes( i got the yellow paint on places that i didn't want..how can i get this off and make the lines finer?)

oops......
i didn't clean before i painted it....but i plan on giving it a couple more coats to even everything out....should i still clean it with alcohol or will this **** up the already not so great paint job?

Dont sand it. The interior parts are slick not rough so use primer and paint. Since you already painted. Just run it through a sink. Dry it. Spray on 3 to 4 coats of paint let that dry for 24 to 48 hours so the paint will fully adhese to the surface of the prior paint once thats done put on 2 to 3 coats of clear coat. Let that dry for a good 2 to 3 hours and your set to put it in and show it off

* Never sand it. Cause if you do the surface is not going to be even and once you try to paint over it its not going to look right.
Anything else I can help you with? I just got done with mine it looks great. I wish i had a scanner to show you guys.

why is the paint job not that great ??? ......make sure you go for ligh coats of paint.......don't just spray it endlessly...........
spray light......let dry.......spray light.......let dry........continue this until you are happy with the color when it's all dried out......

WELL I FIGURED OUT THE LIGHT COATS THING AFTER ABOUT THE SECOND COAT BUT THE LINES DIDN'T COME OUT TO GOOD......FOR EXAMPLE I WANTED TO COLOR JUST THE DOOR HANDLE THE THE BLACK RIM AROUND IT BUT I GOT SOME YELLOW ON THE RIM......BUT I ORDERED SOME CLEAR COAT AND PAINT REMOVER TO WORK OUT THE DETAILS BUT FOR THE MOST PART IT CAME OUT ALRIGHT

almost there
I pretty much finished the four door panels with the exception of the door handles. I also still need to paint the center dash.(ran out of paint) I have a question though. Is it possible to remove the actual handle from the door handle assembly?

YOU MUST SAND IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER ANYTHING YOU PAINT. if you want it to stick
They sell these little green scotch bright pads (at body shop suppliers) that you can use with hard water and mild detergent on plastic parts to help the paint stick and not flake off from heat or impact and such.

Sorry for the delay with the pics guys. I have posted the pics on my site. here is the before's and afters. I still have to paint the radio surround , gauge cluster and center dash but i'm tired of painting i'm gonna have a body shop do it as well as detail the painting i did.
