Rock chips

I put a 3M paint protection film on the front of my 3 the day I bought it and so far no chips in the bumper. Its the same stuff lots of race cars use to protect the paint. I know Nissan has had problems with their paint chipping badly, and this is what a lot of the 350Z owners are getting into. Most people are not aware of this film so if any of you are wanting to avoid rock chips but don't like the vinyl bras should check it out.

The first picture is after the 2005 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, in the second, we are taking off the film and the last has all the film removed from the front of the car.

The kits I do are computer cut to match specific vehicles. Check out www.xpel.com and click shop and follow the prompts. More information is avaliable at http://www.speedfilm.net

Pricing is going to vary just like windowtinting, and finding a good installer is very important. It will also depend on how much coverage is applied. A full install, hood, fenders and front bumper can run between $400 to over a thousand if you start covering rocker panels, A pillars, rear bumper lips, inside wheel well opening and such.

I can quote a price for the work I do( $575 for the 3 ), but can't tell you what others around the country would charge. I'm sure the guys in Beverly Hills charge more than I do!

you even support 99s! that's always nice... something to keep in mind when I get my new paint job, too many chips now to worry about it. Now if you could make something for the windshield... I have replaced 3 already.

Funny you should ask: http://www.edgeguardusa.com/

I got a letter from these folks 2 weeks ago but have yet to try it. I think it only covers the outter 2 or 3 inches, not the whole thing. I do have 5 years using the 3M film so I know that works.

i doubt they would actually do that. I am sure it's illegal. Besides, it would mess with how the safety glass functions.
