My stock speakers are rattling the **** out of my doors... I crank them alot, and have had the car for over a year now. I listen to rap, so they have alot of bass going to them.

I'm going to put a system in eventually, but that won't be until after summer at best, so I have to use these speakers for awhile... Is there any way to get my stock speakers to stop rattling? How are they attached to the door, and how can I shut them up?

Replace them beacuse you have busted them.

What does a blown speaker sound like? They still play music fine and clear, but the door itself ratles... I'll try the weatherstripping idea this weekend...

Stock speakerss are paper, low bid product in the front of pioneer unless you paid for the Kenwoods.
I would suggest three things, first a little sound deadening material about the speakers themselves, not a fortune worth though! when you take off the door panels, you will probable notice spaces at a point or two about the speaker. Remove the speaker, and use deadening up to right up to the edge of the speaker hole and fill in any open areas with the deadening material. While there, make sure the water drip protectors are secure, they are the black covers on the speakers to help keep water from getting at them too bad. They are sealed on normally with a got silicone glue, so they should be fine, just ckeck for sure. If when you replace the stock fronts you go with a drop in 5x7, these covers can be heated up and taken off, and reused, and do it! Save those spyders!
Next, loctite the bolts that hold the speakers in place. It will make them a royal pain to remove later, but it will help secure them.
Third do as has been pointed out here already, weather stripping. I prefer more heft like one inch compression styro and then just bolt the bulging door back on! (with the right tools it actually can be shaved to size). Not for everyone though. If the door is rattling, you will need to look and pad at most every plastic support ridge near the speakers, or you will just send the vibrations looking for somewhere else to come out as sound.
We are talking about energy here in vibration, so you have to difuse it or absorb it somehow.
It can actually be a fun process, and you will certainly know you car better when done, which is a good thing as Matha Stewart would say!

i took all four door panels off and foam taped everything i thought would rattle. that means all the joints in the panel themselves and tape along the edges of the panel where it contacts the door.

i also have dynamat under each speaker.

pretty much took car of any rattle that would occur at any volume that doesn't hurt my ears.
