Radio\Heater control trim
the piece of trim around the radio and heater control (in 2001 es)
in my car will not come out. is there a secret to it? i unsnapped it and pulled it out about a half inch and it stopped. the wires to the heater are holding it there and i cant get to the screws that hold it in place.... are the wires just caught up and i can loosen them through the kick panel by the drivers seat or is there a certain way to get this out?
thanks

Wow, you've gotten further than me so far. =)
Is there a trick to it, or do you need to just pry it? I haven't found a good spot along the edge to pry it w/o possibly bending/denting the plastic out of shape.

i just pryed it at the top and bottom until i could get my finger in between the trim and the dash and popped it loose.... just cant get the heater off to relase the whole piece of trim. there are 2 little clips on the top of the heater control and 4 screws (that i have seen) on the sides and bottom

I had the same confusion, too - being a person who loves pulling the dashboard apart, I couldn't understand how to get it off - and I still don't.
Luckily, if you are trying to remove it to then remove the radio, you don't have to. The stereo comes out with the trim in place. Check out this guy's site for more detail: www.astolfo.com/p5
