Arrow Push Button Starter

Has anyone installed one of those S2000 Push-Button ignition buttons?

It's next on my list of things to do and I was just wondering how involved it was (comments on how you like it would help as well).

Thanks!

This isn't for proteges specifically, but it should help none the less.

all you need is a heavy duty push button switch and either have it tap onto the existing starter wire, or cut the wire and have it run through the push button switch only. Personally, i'd just tap onto it.

Has anyone actually tried this? Sounds like it's a pretty cheap and cool mod.

nsxdemon,

I ordered one from www.nopi.com yesterday (Tuesday) so whenever it shows up I'll do the install and let you know how it went.

Not to many people around here seem interested in this minor mod.

I imagine the button will come with instructions, but essentially, you'll use the switch to flip a relay to send power to the starter wire (your key will still start the car) just like a remote start/alarm would. Be sure to use a good relay, Potter Brumfield.

That's an awesome mod idea, I had never seen those before and with having my P5 for a little over a week now, I am looking at different mods to do in the future.......any feedback on it?

Push Button Starter

I thought you guys might find this interesting. I saw this push button starter that plug is into you cigarette lighter and it's supposedly starts your car by pressing the button. Very interesting. Well, I'm sure you guys want to see it for yourself so here you go.

It doesn't stick into the cigarette lighter, you have to remove the whole thing (cigarette lighter), and then this switch is made to fit in the hole, so that you don't have to do any drilling to mount it.

Hmmm...another step in starting the car - and one that is totally useless to boot.

Not to flame, but can you blame people for not being to interested?

If you come up with a system a-la the new Cadillacs, where all you have to do is step up to the car, and the fob in your pocket unlocks the doors automatically, and the ignition also senses the fob and allows you to just push a button and start the car with no key at all, hey - I'm all ears.

Until then, I'm sorry - this is just useless crap that you'll probably use for a week - and after that, only to try to impress someone who hasn't seen it before. I think even you will get sick of having to put in the key, then push a button to start the car. It's just kinda dumb, IMO.

Again - no flame. Just voicing an opinion, and speculating on why "no one else is interested" in the "mod".

I had the one from Ignited.

Very cool. Illuminated red as well.

Everyone thought it was cool. I took out the shifter, cut out around inside, the unneeded plastic, and put it in the top left corner near the cupholders.

Looked very cool as I was told But it was a neat addition.

You will need a 30 amp fuse or more though, so it doesn't melt and start fire

oh and hihoslva nice opinion, but that's strong words for opinion

Turn on lights, of course! When I had the push button start installed I went ahead and had the switches pre-wired for future purchases. I finally have one of my switches hooked up to my pedals, which actually look better NOT LIT, but it's alright because this is my show car/daily driver.
