Yeah...

So I got a new Sony MP3 head unit for my P5 and installed it last night. The job would of been a lot easier if the stock head unit would of come out with out any trouble. Damn that thing was a pain in the *** to take out!!! I tried making the tool that was shown in another thread. But what worked best for me was using small jewelers flat head screw drives to push the clips in. Glad I dont have to go through that again!

It is a real easy job if you use 2 sets of Ford radio removal tools. Makes removing the factory head unit about a 1 minute job. For me, well worth the cost of the tools.

ditto...I'm an audio idiot and I can my stereo out in less than a minute. I picked the tool at Wal-Mart of all places.

try literally trying to pry the thing out!! I used one set of Ford/Mazda keys because the dip behind the counter didn't no his dick from a cucumber. This was before discovering this site. I specifically told him double DIN. It ended up that I made home made ones like on the top sticky to get the thing out. But the first attempts with the single key on each side caused the left side of the radio brackets to bend outward. I was able to get the right side out and had to shemmy and pry without ******* up the dash. I got it out though it ended up on the pavement full force some how. Gee don't know how that happened!
