Red face Is it Possible to Change The Lighting Color of Speed Gauge on Protege5?

I wanted to change the speed gauge night lighting color to blue instead of red. Is it possible to do this?

No. The color is not a bulb. It is a colored film on the gauges themselves. Only way to do it is swap out for a new gauge set.

I looked into this, too, by changing th bulbs, and the popular consensus is that no, it can't be done with bulbs - there is a film on the back of the gauges.

I have read of ppl trying to peel the film off and replace it with a different color, with mixed results. Sounds like a tough job to do, and the gauge faces are not easy to remove - horror stories of broken needles. Think I'm gonna wait this one out for a while...

Red's the best color for night gauges anyway--the photoreceptors in your eye are less sensitive to red light, so red best preserves your eye's dark adaptation.
