police style emergency flashers (up-front)?

As I was driving by a Miata a few nights ago, I noticed it was driving with the blinkers on (I guess because it was going kinda slowly?). The blinkers were normal in the back, but as I passed by, up front, I saw the amber blinkers were alternating right and left. I was wondering if anybody had seen this before, and if it's just a relay replacement? I'm guess it's illegal though...

it is a relay replacement and bulbs that are rated to flash like that and or a entire adaptable kit to put in the bulbs and holders in the existing corner lights.

Nothing is Illegal until you get caught. ex: You can tell a cop that you are the biggest drug dealer and user right to their faces and they cannot do anything about it. Unless you are drugged up at the time.
Same goes for lights and such like these until you use them the wrong way they are not illegal. Cops can be dicks and try to get you for stuff but it wont hold up in front of a judge, unless you were driving around with the flashing lights.

Funny - but that's not precisely true. In most states, there are NO laws about being drugged up (other than alcohol) unless you are driving or causing a ruckus (movie quote thread! "Can you describe the ruckus?" ). For example, if you are sitting in a park, all baked out - even if you reek of weed - a cop can do nothing. There are NO laws about CONSUPTION of drugs, only POSESSION. Of course, the assumption is that you can't be drugged up if you don't posess them first - but fact is, once you are *there*, no one can touch you - unless you make an *** out of yourself and disturb the peace or something.

And there are no field sobriety tests for anything other than alcohol. That's the only drug that they can prove you are on, when you are on it. Other drug tests only check for prior usage.

Off topic, I know. But at least *I* find it interesting....

I figured it would more or less be a relay replacement like that. The flash I saw was more or less the speed of a normal turn signal though, I would think the same bulbs / wiring would work.

Any idea of a price / place to get it?

As for legality... ummm... yeah... it's not for road use or anything, hehe

I have seen them in Police merchandise magazines and in industrial construction magazines.
