Question PolarG Head Bulbs

What the hell does this mean : 60/55w= 110/100w for PolarG bulbs?(H4s/9003). Every site selling them puts that crap under info section. Which part is correct? 'Cause the box has nothin' about 60-55w on them(judging from the pic)/ Has anybody used those bulbs anyway, are they better than SilverStars.????????
PS They better be better.....

Re: PolarG Head Bulbs

Check out the Daniel Stern Lighting website for useful accurate information. 60/55W is the electrical rating of the H4/9003 bulb. Some companies claim their bulbs put out the equivalent of 110/100W because of the supposedly greater light output of the bulb. Not true since the electrical rating is still the same. Often a blue tint is added to a bulb to make it appear whiter and therefore brighter. Actually, although appearing brighter, the light output is reduced over the untinted bulb.

Whatever you do, don't use bulbs that have an ELECTRICAL rating of 90/100W because they will damage your bulb socket and headlight wiring harness.

IMO the best bulb to use in terms of actual light output is the Silverstar. Osram/Sylvania makes the Silverstar. The Sylvania version has a blue tint whereas the Osram version is an E-spec untinted bulb that consequently puts out more light than the Sylvania. Definitely get the Osram Silverstar.

You can buy them at: www.powerbulbs.com
They are a reliable company and provide fast shipping.

I've been using Sylvania SilverStars for about a year now (using my second set right now) and mine don't have a blue tint. I know Sylvania make a bulb with blue tint, but the Silverstars I have are not tinted. I bought my first set at Kragen's auto parts, the second I bought at eBay.com (brand new, half-price).
