I was wondering the same thing a few months ago, I'm getting the Alpine 7995 next week.

I think if you're going low end then get a Pioneer, if you want high end then go Alpine. Pioneer makes fine HUs but I think Alpine is way ahead of them when it comes to SQ.

just my .02$

BTW, you do know the 7995 doesn't have an internal amp right? I just wanted make shure

No it doesn't have an internal amp. If its anything like its predisesor then it has 3, 4 volt preouts. Pioneers just ahve way to many gimmicky bullshit boosting features that try to make up for an overall lack of power but end up sounding like ***. i have been on at Tweeter 3 times now when the guys at BB couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong with the pioneer deck sounding like ***. Every time it was a setting in the radio that someone couldn't understand or find to turn off.

Thanks for the info I was thinking Alpine was top end gear and that's what everyone tells me but the Pioneer DEH-P9400MP had almost the same stuff but lacked the top end power that the Alpine 7995 gives so I think I'm gonna go with Alpine thanks!!!

As far as power the 7995 only uses Preouts so there isn't alot of power difference. The Alpines main advantage is useful features such as time correction on each speaker and bass and treble width adjustment, not to mention built in crossovers.
