Pioneer DEH-3400

Hi everyone, I will be getting my new Protege ES GT sometime next week and the question I have is this; should I keep the factory head unit or put in the Pioneer DEH-3400 that I have in my old car? would it make a difference? it's a 50x4 HU and the quality is very nice, plus I have a Infinity Kappa Basslink 10" powered sub that I'll put in the protege.
what are your thoughts?

My Alpine head unit is old (several years old when they first came out with 4volt outputs), and replacing the factory radio with a high power head unit made a difference alone. If you don't have a dash kit, the Scosche kits are nicer than Metra. They just look a little more cleaner. Or get one like HH with the carbon fiber. Those are the bomb.

What you talkin' bout, Willis?

No carbon fiber here, bro - 'cept for the fake crap on the sides of the stock trim, of course.

This is the pocket from the MazdaSpeed/MP3 and some older Proteges (98/99?). Pricey from the dealer, but keep an eye on eBay or check some junkyards in your area to find one at a bargain.
