Pioneer AVX-P7300DVD

I was wondering if I was gonna buy this unit do I also have to buy one of the brain units either the 7000R, 8000R, or 9000R in order to watch dvd's or could I just buy the 7300DVD and watch dvd's as soon as I install it and then buy one of the brain units later??
THANKS

you can watch DVDs right away, BUT looks you'll need an amp, as it dosen't mention any speaker outputs.

the other units add things like DTS/Dobly Digital or TV etc...so you could get those later. BUT might be kinda pointless if you don't have a digital amp, it will still be improved sound, but not for the price your paying for that gear.

So I most likely need all below:

Pioneer 7300DVD/TV
Amp that I already have (if I can use it)
and then add one of the DTS/Dolby Digital Brain Units later

The amp I have is a MTX Thunder4250D 4 Channel which runs my 2 12" Subs and my Alpine 7995 so am I gonna need to buy another amp since this one seems kinda maxed out?!?!

yes, any amp will do. just that the 7300 doesn't appear to have an amp built in.

the 7300 will also play CDs, no need for the Alpine anymore.

I use the Alpine as my mp3 player so I am still gonna use that. But could I hook this 7300 up to my amp that I have now with all this other stuff hooked up to it?

yes, you can have it all hooked up, providing either the Alpine or the Pioneer has an AUX input. Otherwise, you'll need a switcher and a few other things....

The DEHP7300DVD screen is awsome but in order to make it work you do need a prosessor for it. Dont get the 7000 it is junk (it doent give you that orgnic display). The 8000r is the best $ value but it doesnt have the 5.1 set up the 9000r does. If you are not getting a centre speaker in your dash or kick pods I wouldnt wast your $.
