Paint Job
What do you guys tink would be a good price to get the two passenger doors and the hood painted?
I started looking around and found one guy charging me $975, Macco at $550 and another guy wants $450.
I think that Ill go with the last guy.
The car is a sedan with Black Mica paint if that makes much of a diffrence.

Before you do any of them make sure you look at some of the work the shop/person has completed. Most Macco's are crap, but there have been some ppl have been satisfied with. I would personally just make sure the shop that I go too has done good work in the past.

if you're planning on holding onto your car for more than 4 years, get a quality job, and **** maaco. if you have an older car like mine (94) and don't give a ****, you just want a sleek looking paint job, go with maaco. this has been covered before, some type of conspiracy by maaco that uses propietary chemicals in their paint that literally repells all other types of paint for some reason? i don't know, if it's an uh oh, you better do your research on these other two guys first.

the last guy does some good work he painted my fathers old ford van it looks like new now. So I took it to them, three days I will have my car back.
The thing got keyed up pretty bad, It was just the two doors and the hood. But now the fender and stuff has to be painted to make it all look good.

Sorry to steal the thread, but it seems that you have done your decision
Here is what is happening
1.I just bought a used spoiler from a black protege
2.I just bought a used front lip from a black protege
I want to change the color from black to silver, not sure what is the name of the silver, have it in my car somewhere
the question is, where should I take it, dealer, or should I take it to a body shop and give them the color code. Will they be able to match it with the body(I know it won't be perfect, but will it be close, or will I be to see different silver shades?)
Thanks in advance

zerocover,
What about your insurance? Most deductables are about $500.
Your rates shouldn't change because of it.
If your car got keyed, then get a police report for criminal damage or vandalism depending on your state laws.
That is why we have insurance, isn't it?
Later,
Bill

Yeah, I filled a police report but at the time I had no insurance.
I was still watin for the title and drivin around with temp plates on.
Its ok I got a good deal. The car looks just like new now.
