Don't factory bumpers also need to be painted? i thought they were shipped unpainted! tht adds a bit to the cost. if t he work is done through a body shop, 3 grand is not an unrealistic price. do it yourself, yes you will save $$$.

Do it yourself? What on earth would make you think you could do that?

I'm not sure that's how much they're worth. That was just a guess. Just go to the dealer and find out.

Okay, ya. Installing everything should be fairly easy indeed.

Called 2 dealers yesterday:

The grill was $31, foglights $188 each, wheel wells were $28 each, rebar was an a$$ raping $361 and bumper itself was $375, unpainted.

Maxx, the rebar is the piece that supports the bumper right?
Is it a complicated piece, assuming you've seen it?

Damn - all that ****, plus getting the bumper painted in the end, is gonna be like $1200-$1300. I've had no luck locating parts off scrap yards and jap parts dealers - they either don't have P5 stuff, or are too far away.

2.0GT, get the front bumper from Wings West. Apparently, you can use the stock mounting. In the end, you'll save a lot - no rebar, wheel wells, top grill. It's the exact samething. Here:

http://www.wingswest.com/products_de...page=1&id=1816

BTW, I actually think I'm gonna put the 2003 P5 headlights with the black housings on the car first, then do the front end when I get through my 1st year of Univ. I should be picking up my White ES on Wednesday.

Check out the topic called "Bumper Swap."

thanks for the info. i was looking at the wings west a little bit, but didnt know if the under bumper stuff needed to be changed as well. that kit only looks good if you buy front/rear bumper plus side skirts. might be next year before i look at it closer.

Told you it was expensive. Yes, the rebar is basically the bumper "support" with the styrofoam **** on it for when you crash. It's easy to change, only a few bolts I think.

2.0GT

I've been debating whether the front bumper alone will look good, or if I'd have to get the whole MP3 kit?? Check it out. What do you think? Unless you want the whole thing, I think the whole car looks fine with just the front conv.
