Best of luck with them on eBay - I'd think you'll sell a bunch.

And the fees shouldn't be too bad, especially for a dutch auction. I never set up a Dutch, so I can't remember the fee schedule, but if it i based on the number of items for sale, start with maybe 5 or 10. The fact is, all you want to do is advertise and get buyers - you're not really looking for "bids" so-to-speak. You know your price, and that's what you want. Plus, it's easy to state in the auction description that hey are hand-made, and anyone who would like to order one can either bid or contact you directly by email - that might help keep the fees down to a minimum.

Another idea - maybe Blue LEDz or someone else with a wholesale hookup can partner up with you, and you can sell plain boxes, and PRE-LOADED ones with a sub installed. Then you've really got something like a JL Audio StealthBox going.

Also - before setting up an auction, try to get some better pictures. The one's you have are not bad, but the lighting could be better, and really good pictures can help you sell - you'd be surprised. Great pictures are better than the most detailed description - people buy **** based on what they SEE - rarely do people read those looooong auction descriptions - c'mon, you know you scroll to the pix first - just like me!

I'm just throwing out ideas, because I'd love to see your work yield some cash for you.

I'm still considering it, though I do have the cargo tray issue to deal with.

I think I am going to be ordering one up in the next few days, so stay tuned for an email or PM from me. What is the cost again for the 12" box?

I only build them as they are ordered, so no, I don not have a grey one. I have seen the p5 interior in other colors than black, but only in pictures. I had assumed that the north american and canadian p5's all had black interiors, so I do not have a carpet sample to match the grey color. The only way to insure a carpet match would be to have you mail me a carpet sample from your car.

Order Placed...

Just sent you an email to order a 12" box in Black for my P5. Can't wait to hear it and "feel" it in my car.

dude, will the 10" or 12" enclosure still allow my wife to use the cargo net and cargo tray that she "loves" so much? Sorry, to ask a stupid question. But, this would be a problem with me ordering one since she 1) uses the cargo net all the time and 2) spills "potluck" crap all the time in the trunk! AAARRRGGGHHH!!! And we've only had the MP5 for about a couple of weeks!

To be honest, I am seriously debating wether or not I want to continue to offer these or not. They are a lot of work, and many people seem interested, but not interested enough to buy one. I would have been fine to build them at the prices that I had said before if I had enough orders, but really it's not worth building like one a month. It requires a lot of time to read and respond to all of the threads about this plus all of the e-mail I get which usually requires very detailed information or pictures. Not to mention the enclosures themselves are time-consuming, and pretty much everyone has their own take on how I "should have" done them. I get questions all the time about how great the enclosures look if it had only been built to suit that individual's needs rather than be something that works for 95% of the people that would buy one. In addition to this, I hate to sound so rude, but it takes more time than I really care to spend to answer the same questions over and over again because some people don't bother to read the other threads on the subject. I really do enjoy having discussion on the board here, but if you could see my e-mail, you'd understand.
I really do enjoy being a member here and I am all about sharing information and helping others and being helped by others, but I will also tell you that half of the e-mail that I answer is pretty much questions about how I made these or how to overcome obstacles that people are running into trying to build their own. I want to be as helpful as I can, but I can tell everyone that there are no secrets to what I do. Any information that one would need to do this project on their own is free and readily available on the internet. I have already seen a few folks that have built their own versions, which I think is great. There are plenty of skilled people with great ideas who post here. I would never say that this enclosure idea was mine and that someone stole it from me. I will say that for me personally to walk someone through how to do this start to finish is like calling jl audio and asking them how to make your own stealthbox. They will not be willing to give out all one would need to know to make one, because then what's the point of selling them?
Sorry for the long post, but I'm just a regular guy with a regular day job. I don't have a customer service staff or anything. I barely have time to read and respond to my e-mail on this subject mostly because the questions that I get have either already been answered, are about information that I would prefer not to give out, or are modifying the original design so greatly that they are not even what they were intended to be anymore. And I'll let you all in on a little secret: even after all this time and answering all of the questions that I get the total # of boxes that I have sold=0. If you were me, would it be worth it to you?

I can say with confidence that it will not fit with the cargo tray. As for the net, I don't have one so I don't know about that. does the net fasten to the floor or at the rear hatch opening? Suggestions have been made to cut the cargo tray to fit around the enclosure. This is not acceptable to everyone, I know, but it is the only thing that I can say with confidence will work.

Really nice job. How much are you selling these for. I know a few weeks ago you mentioned a price around $200. Thanks.

Just wanted to throw up a quick post to say that I'm no longer building these, and I apologize to the folks who didn't learn of them until later.
