not hitting hard

ok my freind and i are considering a little business deal here involving subs, so we decided to wire my 12" pioneer premier sub to his 600 watt kenwood amp, the amp is usually powering 2 400 max 250 continuous rockford 12''s. at first it was not hitting as hard as expected, so we took out one set of sub wires, so make sure that power was not being diverted to this wire, and causing up to lose power. this did not help. any ideas? by the way, my sub is 800 watts max and 600 rms.

2ch amp? do you have it bridged for more power? or is it a mono amp powering 2 RF 12's? if it is mono then its probably running 2ohm mono. and when you hoooked your pionner up it was running 4ohm mono (1/2 power)

600W Kenwood is it a 629 or 729? You could check to see if it is wired in bridged or not. Or if the sensitivity dial is down.

sounds like the 729 which is ruffly 300 watts rms at a 4 ohm bridged load.

Make sure you subs aren't out of phase and that the total load is not lower then 4 ohms. If it is the amp will not play worth a damn and will cook itself.
