Newbie question regarding car wash..

Does using sponge scratch the surface of your car?
like the surface of paint?
Seem to me I was able to tell a little bit, or is it just me that uses the wrong clothes to dry the car?

Thanks

It could, but more than likely it's in the towels your drying with. I spent the $8 for a good lamb wool wash mitt...they pull any dirt away and into the wool, away from your car.
For towels, it makes a big difference as far as streaks to use full size bath towels that are Made in USA, 100% cotton. Fieldcrest and Cannon make them. Alot of towels will say Made in USA, or 100% cotton made in Pakistan or other foreign country...but they have some nylon or synthetic fibers in them, these won't absorb water and will streak. I use pure white so they don't jack up and release dyes, two towles per wash, throw em in the washer when you get home and they're white as can be.

And yes my car has better towels than I do!
