Cool Newbie!! :-D

Hey everyone!

I'm Jessica.. I'm from Davenport, Iowa, USA.. I purchased my first brand spankin' new car on August 8th, 2002.. I went with the Mazda Protege LX! I like it sofar.. I'm not "in love" with it yet.. I was in love with my 1993 Geo Storm, a regular at http://www.stormowners.com .. so It'll take me a while to get used to you guys, bear with me!
I haven't even gotten my first car payment, but after I figure out how my finances are going to work every month.. I plan to start mods on this baby!! I mean who likes a factory car The first thing I think i'm going to do is tint. I bought a cheap interior neon (15"). Here's a question. I can't find a place to mount it.. Law here in iowa says you can't see the bulb.. I found a place on the roof .. but the adhesive sucks and won't stick.. we sewed one to the top of my friend's S-10.. but it looks like the Protege won't allow for any sewing. Any ideas?
I'm looking forward to getting to know this place, and my car! Thanks a million!

Jess

Welcome - !!!!

You can probaly mount the neon under the seat. A couple of people on the board did this and I like the way it looks. Just do a search on neon lights and see the pics :-)

Welcome to the board Jessica, congrats on the new car. If you haven't fallen in love with your Protege yet, you will. As for neons in the car.. there's not too many places you can mount one without seeing the bulbs aside from under the dash, or the seats. I have two 10" blue tubes mounted under the dash right now. Anyway, search around the forums, and hang out. You'll learn a lot about your car.

Unforturnately the Search Engine has been down for the last day or so...

Some people have mounted the Neon under the seat or front dash (both passenger and driver side). Once the search engine goes back online, do a search as stated above. I believe one of them showed how to splice the lines into lighter or some other power source.

heres the problem with mounting her neon under the seat...it wont fit! jessica, you got a 15" light, correct, i have 2 10" lights and they both fit very snuggly under the seat. granted, my car is a few years older, but i dont think they added 5 inches to the width of the new seats. what i would do, is see if there is a way to slide the light in under your dash. if you go behind it, in the middle, im sure you will fins a way to fit the bulb through. you way not even have to mount it, it may just wedge right in. if that doesnt work for you, pm me for other ideas.

peace.

Return the 15" light and get 2 10" lights.

Jessica, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. :{D

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!:{D
