depends on how much you are willing to spend...

There are some serious 8" drivers out there that will give plenty of bass from no more than 0.5 cubic feet of space.

Elemental Designs e8a
Resonant Engineering RE8
JL Audio 8W7
Kicker S8L7
Click These subs look pretty impressive too for the price

etc....

My new enclosure doesn't take up too much space:

Of course, it only took me 3 weeks to finally complete......

Seriously though, you can get some very good bass with a small 10" driver and enclosure. I just put my old Rockford 10 in my wife's Jeep in a nice little enclosure from www.ikesound.com. (look under "Raptor") Takes up only a little space.

You can also look into the Infinity Basslink - self powered, very compact, nice sound. Won't pound, but will add a good shot of low-end reinforcement: http://www.infinitysystems.com/carau...ry.asp?Ser=BSL

I've got 2 10" subs, a couple of amps, and I can still fit my son's full size stroller in the car along with the groceries.

Check out the site below for pics

hey 00blunt, do ya know where to find those Blaupunkt saucer subs? I checked around a few places and no one seems to carry them. Even the Blaupunkt website doesn't mention anything about them!
