would speakers from a 1997 MX6 LS (i think - the one with the V6) fit in my 1999 LX Touring protege?! (i think it's the US ES trim level equivalent).

my parents might be selling it, and if they do, i might bastardize/steal the speakers from it.

The speakers from the rear of an MX-6 will fit in the front doors in a Protege5. I took the ones from my 95 MX-6 LS and put them in my P5.
