MX-3 Seats in a 2nd gen
Well i finally got my mx-3 seats, not in the condition promised but i'm going to work with them, found a guy that made his own seat covers for his mx-3 and i'm hoping to get the patterns from him. Now the only problem i've run into is that the width of the bolt patterns are the same from the mx-3 to the pro but the pro has longer bolt patterns so i had to bolt the front of the seats to my rails and drill holes which worked just fine. leading to only one other problem, the seat leans toward the middle of the car, the only idea i have is to put 1 inch spacers between the seat and the rail to fix the lean. is that safe? if so i won't worry, any ideas?

Hey, I give you the props for trying this. I am going to research into it this summer as well, but if I were to find a pair of mx-3 seats, I would probably find one in dark color, and then have to find the back seats from another pro in that color as well. As for the making the seat level, I would suggest trial and error. Fit whatever spacer you think that will level the seat, check how level it is, and then just go for a drive, and try to do some hard braking, and see what the seat is doing. As long you tighten the bolts well, and the spacers wont fall out, I would think that you should be OK. Goodluck, and let us know how it works out.

Same thing happened to me, mine are also leaning towards the middle of the car. It's kind of annoying, yes. i was thinking of doing the same thing as you, but I don't drive the car too much right now so it hasn't been a priority. I might be getting some other seats as with custom seat rails, so I might just say F it.

Well i put in the 1" spacers this morning and they seemed to work, the seat feels secure and if there is a lean its very very small now. I am still trying to figure out what to do about the color of the seats but until then i am just putting on some grey covers. I will hopefully have time to do the driver seat tomorrow, winter sucks, if the weather was nicer this would probably all be done already. but all this snow and stuff makes it harder to work on the car.

Well i got both seats in now and they feel really nice. I have temporary seat covers on them until i can start making replacement seat covers. I am waiting to hear from the mx-3 owner that redid his seats, they look really nice so i'm hoping I can do the same thing, I don't want to pay 2 grand for someone else to make seat covers for my seats

What year of MX-3 seats did you get?
I hate mine. They're the most uncomfortable seats ever. All MX-3 seats to me are uncomfortable. The foam they used is just too soft or too hard - one of the two. Either way, they're not great for long distance driving that's for sure.
The '92 seats are the nicest looking seats.
