mp3 subwoofer problem

Just bought an MP3 and the subwoofer doesn't seem to be working. It has power and I have messed with all the head unit settings to do with bass and nothing yet. I can't feel any bass coming out of it.. is it just really weak? I'd appreciate any guidance!

i'm not real familiar with te MP3's system....but you say it has power...is that 12volt power? is it self amplified? does it have a signal? I would think it being a Kenwood system, that RCAs would be used, check those. you may need to pull the deck and see if the SUB OUT RCA is still commected to the deck.

If your able to gain access to the subwoofers speaker wires, try a different speaker and see if any sound is present.

yeah, make sure the rca's go into the back of the headunit, then check to insure that the ground is hooked up under your trunk carpet, below the seat backs...if that don't work, take off the sills, front and back, and trace the lines on the drivers side, look for any shorts.

Hehe - think I read this one before!

On the Kenwood deck, there is a setting for "NF" which stands for "non-fading" - or the subwoofer RCA outputs. Your "NF" is probably set to "off", so no signal is sent to the sub - check the manual for the deck on how to turn it back on, or just fiddle 'till you get it.

I'm betting a shiny new nickel that this is why your sub is not working.

Let us know so I can collect (or pay, I guess )
