well yes they probably could do it, but it wouldn't be cheap. if i were you, id get an aftermarket one. i have personal experience with B&M and Kartboy shifters on proteges. they both work really well, and if you are planning on getting the MP3 one for performance and a lower look, just get one of those 2 aftermarket ones.

hello again, change of plan, after my dad tells me thata shifer like the one his pro 5 is costs like 250, we decided we're gonna make our own, make it our of wood, put some leather on it, make it any shape i want, so you were talking about the aftermarket shifters, about how much do they cost and are they hard to install, and also, will it give me a shorter shifter( location of threads at about the same height of the mp3 shifter)

are you talking about the shifter? or the shift ****? any shift **** will work, but i prefer the ones that screw on like the stock ****. however, the mp3 gets its lower shift hiegt from the actual shifter, which is what was described above.

a search would be great on this topic as it has been dicussed ALMOST to death.

yea i think your confused. do you want to replace the shifter itself, or the ****. replacing the shifter will give the car a great feel by reducing the throw and taking some of the slop out of the shift. it will feel alot tighter with a short shifter. the B&M one is about 140 and the kartboy is about 90. as far as a ****, you can get an aftermarket one from www.teamvoodoo.com if your looking for something with a cheap price tag, or you can go to www.nopionline.com and check out their huge selection. i have a momo sphere that was about $90, but i love it and it was defanitely worth the money.
