MP3 Pedals

Hey I'm new around here with my Black P5 and I'm wondering if the pedals from the 2001 MP3 are available anywhere. I've been looking around for a nicer pedal for heel-toe shifting, and I just don't like the stuff from APC and I can't seem to find much else. Any pointers on where to look?

Here is the link you are looking for.

http://www.mazdastuff.com/product.cfm?ProductID=976

MazdaStuff is probably the easiest way to pick these up.

Mazdastuff just seems like another dealer to me. Are the prices w/shipping actually cheaper?

bolt on?

Do these pedals bolt on over the OEM pedals? I thought the MP3 had its pedals welded on.

mazdastuff is just another dealer, but they seem to have fairly good prices. I cracked the glossy black trim piece about the front emblem the other day. The dealership where I bought the car from wanted $96 for a piece of injection-molded plastic. Mazdastuff is only asking $33, so I ordered it from them. That's about a third the cost of my local dealer.

short throw

hey Hawkeye, how do you like your B&M short throw shifter? Did it install pretty easily? I'm thinking about getting one, the stock throw is just so long its annoying.

I've always wondered how the MP3's pedals were mounted. Are they just welded on? If they are, to get replacements you'd have to replace the whole damn pedal and linkage wouldn't you? Seems like a hassle to me. I just got some Levoc Racing Development aluminum bolt-on's from my performance shop, and they look exactly the same for about 20% less.

I have seen the kit to install them and it did not require welding but it did look like some drilling might be required. I'm not sure because I didn't read the instructions that came with them. All I know is that there were some screws in that bag (as they obviously can't just pull over like the rubber ones). I didn't buy them because my dealership wanted an arm and a leg. I would like to know how everyone that has them is enjoying them. Are your feet slipping or anything?

aluminum pedals

I emailed mazdastuff, and they said the MP3 pedals should work "just fine" with my P5, although they did not indicate whether they bolted on or required drilling/screwing.

Maxx, can you post pics or an URL for the Levoc Racing Development pedals?
