Making Car Parts

I've been getting a lot more knowledge from working at my CNC machine shop, and was thinking of making a grill. I personally am going to make a black one for my car, but my first one would be a silver brush aluminum one.

I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in one, if they end up turning out to look okay?? Only reason I ask, is if i'm going to make one, I'd like to maybe put it to use on someone's car once i'm done making it (cost would stickly be shipping/material)... I'm spending my own time to make it... (I obviously would post pictures of what it looks like).

Questions I have is what material to use?? I see the new type of car grills are round circles... any other ideas??

If you'd make something nice for the 2002 P5, I'd be kickin' to get one.

Someone else here showed a custom grille on a P5 - it's on that yellow one that won some awards recently.

IMO - that grille was a little too home-made looking. Just MHO.

I would love to make some for the P5 and the newer Protege's. My only problem is that I own a '99. And I don't have a newer Protege to use (to get measurements, etc etc).

If someone is willing (in the vancouver area) to bring by their Pro, then I can take some measurements, and test fit some grills. If they end up looking good, I don't mind spending some time on the weekends making more. Since i'd be making it on my time, I may charge a LITTLE extra than the parts, and thats only so I can finally by those Carbon Fiber Rear Lights.

If I ended up making some real nice ones, and can get more orders for them, I can ask my dad to help me out to make some more of them, to get them out faster. The problem with manfactuering them is just the Programming, and setting up the machine, but once its set (and programmed) we can run of as many as we want.

90&00 Protege: Do you want a grill for the bottom 3 openings? Or just the bottom middle, where you can see the a/c and radiator?

well as i said, right now it would be strickly just the cost of material, and shipping. I'm using my time, to learn then actual make a profit. Plus it would be nice to see my work on some other Protege's. If u have a idea of what you would like, send it my way.

Kewl, thanks Mak.

If it works out on your car, then I don't mind making a few more.
