One thing to check on the "cheap" cap's ; The voltage capacity. 1 farad, 1/2 farad, either one will work, but go for the highest voltage you can get. You'll find cap's in 12, 16, 18, 20, 24 volt capacity. I use 2 1 farad, 18 volt Rockford Cap's and a Napa Orbital Dry Cell battery -w- a Factory alternator -w- no dimming problems.
