Lights Dimming

I know I'm supposed to get a little bit a dim from my headlights when installing a system but this is somewhat noticeable while I'm driving!! I just picked my car up yesterday from the audio shop and let me say for having stock pioneer hi's and mid's or whatever they are they sound damn good!! I have 2 JL AUDIO 12WO's run by a MTX Thunder5250D amplifier and I have a CLARION APX200.1 amplifier running my ALPINE 7995 and all interior speakers (HI's, Mid's) and I am using 4 gauge wiring so is there anything I can do or get to lighten up this dimming situation, a capacator or anything?? I'm not sure what kind of fuses and all are setup I am gonna be checking all the wiring and loose ends today when I get home!!

THANKS

proper wiring will do the trick also, 4gauge from the alt to the battery, from the engine to the car and from the bat to the car. but you also need a getter battery...or buy a cap

I'm not a pro on sound systems but a better battery will make a huge diference. My lights dim, but barely noticeable. I bought a gel battery from Kragen Auto parts. I think it's the Exide brand.

Do look into a higher quality battery.

As far as capacitors go can I use a 1 farad instead of a 0.5 farad? or is that too much?

It won't hurt to have more reserve. 1/2 FARAD is generally enough for up if you're running up to 500 watts of power in your system. 1 FARAD for 500-1000 watts.

Thanks that explains it for me. My Punch amp runs right at or around 500 depending on the day. I think I will get the 1 farad. They are going for about the same price as a half on ebay.
