just installed clear corners!
I got the diamond clear ones from www.procarparts.com
Very satisfied! I have a 99 ES dark green (BTW what is the official color name for this?)... I also got the polarg white turn signal bulbs... it looks really awesome, sorry no pics for now, hopefully sometime I will spring for a 30 dollar ebay camera...
Just some help for you people thinking about doing this mod... Make sure you try to get new matching headlight bulbs if you are going to do the white turn signals... I just have stock headlights and they are yellowish compared to the pure white turn signals, which looks kinda of stupid, so I will be upgrading that soon...
Looking forward to doing more mods on my car... new custom grill hopefully soon, thanks to Mr. E

I just did the same on my 97 DX, and I tell you, it does not look all that bad, but with a clear lense head light it would look better. Also, for those who want to replace the clear corner lights: I bought mine from Corksport.com, I think they were J-Specs. Anyhow, the unit they sold me would not match the original. The housing unit fits fine and looks great! The light bulb and the prong were wrong. The prong they sent me was a two-prong, and the stock is three. So I took out the stock, but it would not almost fit into the new ones. I had to file just a little on one the hole openings so all the teath would go in fine, and then twisted it in. Also, you will need to get new bulbs as well. I got mine for $3, so it is not that bad. So watch out. I haven't called Corksport.com yet, but I will let them know!

I installed the diamond clear corners from ProCarParts.com as well.
I have to say they match and fit perfectly. These clear corners are actually factory parts, but fitted on the Ford Tierra. The Tierra is rebadged Protege found in some Asian markets like Taiwan. Here's a single pic of the installed lights on mine. I also have full installation pics on my site. BTW, it took less than five minutes per light to install!

get them for sure! I just think the stock corner lights look so bad... I changed them immediately, within a week of owning the car
I also disliked the chrome grill piece but it looks a lot better and I actually even kind of like it now that I have clear corners and no front license plate, it kind of sets my car apart from the civics out there...

In the FAQ it says for the 2001+ Proteges you can open the lighting housing and take out the amber plastic piece. Just be sure to get some silicone sealing compound to reseal the headlights so you don't get 'fog' in your headlights. I would like to know where I can get some silver covers to go over the tips of the orange bulbs so they don't look orange when you look at them, but they light up orange otherwise...

the amber corners are a compromise made to satisfy countries (such as US ) that have national or local regulations that require all cars to have amber markers in front of their cars.
so get it already!!!! either the Tierra corners Jerry has or the Familia corners from Corksport (more than double the price since they're true JDM parts) will look great!

the clear corners for 99-00 Proteges will look good in ALL colors, because that' how the designers back in Japan designed it in the first place. Most of the Proteges (in some markets the Ford Tierra) around the world come with clear corners stock.

Another type of sidemarkers.
I feel they're understated and functional, wired to blinker lights, not parking lights (yuk).
Some say they look like nipples. Hehe.
Perhaps thats what Ferrari had in mind when they decided to use these on their cars.
