Question Infinity or Boston acoustics?

I am getting ready to change my rear speakers and was wondering If I should go with Two Infinity Reference speakers or go with two Boston Acoustic speakers that are on sale. I know many people have Infinity but I havent heard to many people talk about Boston. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This has come up before, I think. BAs are quality speakers but usually hard to find a good discount price, so they aren't that popular with the crowd that frequents this board.

Frankly, I'd just go listen to them both and buy whichever you think sounds better. Speakers are the most subjective components and I'd never buy a speaker that I hadn't heard (unless I had heard a close cousin from the same manufacturer).

I gotta em and love them

I have the bostons all the way around in both my p5 and miata. I asked pretty much the same questions. The concensus seems to be they just aren't as avaible and what is avaiable you usually have to pay close to retail for them. Anyway if you can get them for a good price you can't lose.

I use Boston's in my protege, and am very pleased. There are no authorized internet dealers I know of for BA. If you are looking to spend less and can live with "grey zone" speakers, then try E-Bay, you will save money there... A couple of the dealers there will do their own warrenty on stuff they sell that would otherwise not have a manufacturers warrenty.
Their mids and tweeters don't break anyway. Subs- well users kill subs, and BA are killed just like everyone elses...

Holy **** do I have a story for you. We have a customer with a kenwood 4 channel amp and boston FX series 4"s in front and 6x9s in the back. this guy has to be the most done deaf SOB in history. We put all his stuff in and it was all perfect, sound good to, He had an Aline basic head unit with 2 preouts its like $200. Any ways a week later he comes back. Both right speakers blew. the fronts were somewhat physicly ok and read almost no impedance. The reae was siezed and read over a meg ohm!

we reploaced them, turned up the crossovers and turned down the gains. 1 week later hes back. this time all 4 speakers a re done. same story with the fronts and rears. I check the radio, treble was on 4 bass on 5. We once again replaced all the speakers, locked out the MX boost on the head unit and turned down the gaion on the amp.

THE NEXT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HE'S BACK AGAIN.
this time its just the rights agian, we re ran the rcas and checked all the wires, everything was cool, this time I even fused his speaker wires with 2 amp fuses.

1 WEEK LATER
back again all 4 dead this time he rigged a truck box with horn tweeters in his back seat and no fuses popped. This time we made him pay us to put 6.5s in his doors so we can take the strain of this knuckle heads 4"s in the front.

1 WEEK LATER.
this time we said this is it, becuase I found the deck on plus 4 for bass and treble again. even after we told him every time theyt are just distorting the speakers and cuasing them to blow, If you want it louder just use the volume nothing else. This time we said no more do it again your on your own and I haven't seen him since.

Oh well just a little ditty about BAs blowing.

Har! A good story of abuse alright! In the military we all used to say one of the worse things you could do in the world was to give state of the art arms to idiots...
Let me stand correctted then, owners can abuse anything to death, normally they do it more to some types of hardware like subs....
