infinity basslink wiring kit

hey...
i want to hook up an infinity basslink amplified subwoofer but i don't know what wires are required. i heard from someone that i need to get a RCA cable to hook up the sub to my HU and a some kind of power cable to hook up the amp to the battery. can someone confirm this? do i need any other cables/wires? also, how much should i expect to pay for these cables and are there any particular brands that i should look for?

thanks

I was looking at the Basslink at Circuit City. The sales person said that the unit came with a wiring harness that has all the necessary wires to connect, including power and grounding.

He recommended a separate amp kit to "beef up" the power connection, which they would be happy to sell me for about $40.

The $399 for the unit (which they didn't have hooked up for testing in the showroom) plus $60 for installation and another $40 for the amp kit was a bit much for something I've never heard.

I'm between this type drop in unit (basslink, kicker amplified tube, or bazooka) or going with a good quality single 10" and an amp. Ends up not being much cost difference.

Any advise??

Just get the Monster kit from best buy or circuit city... Get the 10G kit, you don't need the 8G even though monster says you do, the 10 guage wire works fine with the basslink. If you have any problem installing it let me know, I just installed one in my protege last week.

Aydu:

The salesguy is wrong, the basslink does not coming with any of the standard amp connection cables you will need... It does come with speaker wire/harness which you will only use if you plan on splicing them into your exising speaker wire and using your hu's amped speaker out. RCA's will sound better.

You can get the same basslink that cc sells for $399 for $200 (new) on the internet, thats what I did. Look around... you can also do the install yourself, its not that hard. It took me about 2-3 hours and I had no experience installing car audio equip.

Oh and btw, it sounds great... its a great deal if you get it for $200.

The basslink doesn't come with the remote, but you can get them on ebay for pretty cheap. I didn't bother getting one though... You can just set the bass how you want it on the basslink and then use the bass setting on the hu.
