illuminated entry

hi!,

How do I have the illuminated entry feature? I would like to have my car this feature but I don't know to make those wire tappings.

If the keyless/security control unit does not have this function, a small timer relay (i.e. DEI 611T) can be used and pulsed from the unlock wire and set for anywhere from 1sec to 180secs to turn on the domelight(s). Same goes for the headlights.

Hmmm. So could I set my unlock feature to also turn on my headlights for say 7 seconds?

I have the ford lynx, which is equivalent to mazda protege, you can visit ford.com.ph for more details, mine is the ghia. By the way, I live in the Phlippines. When I tap the delay control relay does this also has the fade out feature?

Yes, but it's a bit different for you, as it's a single wire doorlock system. BUT, unlock is a full negative trigger (lock is a lower voltage and uses a resistor)

You wouldn't be setting your unlock feature, simply using it to tell the timer relay when to turn on and start, then set the timer relay for the 7secs.

If the domelight does not fade now, it still won't with the DEI 611T timer.

Hmmm sounds interesting. It's something I'd like to do. I'll have to find out more.
