Keyless entry help

I have no instructions on how to activate the remote. It doesn't seem to work for me. Anyone know how to get the car to recognize the remote? I have a 96 mazda pro.

just starting simple...
as far as trouleshooting...

are you sure the remote is sending a signal?
are you sure the system is receiving that signal?
is the system able to actuate the locking mechanism?

Once you eliminate where the problem is occuring, you can concentrate on what component of that subsystem is causing the larger problem.

Heh, in other words he means you're going to have to pull apart your installation and try to find out what's wrong. lol

It's the coding. I have to set it up. I just don't have the instructions to do it and it costs a lot of money for something as simple as programming a remote to a car. There are thing you have to do like leave certain doors open and turn the key 3 times and stuff like that. I just thought maybe someone had the instructions laying around somewhere.

I PM'd you in hopes the instructions I got with my extra remote (purchased off eBay) work for you too.

Good luck!

just did mine.

unlock and close all doors.
open just drivers door
turn key to on and then off 3x
push drivers door dome switch 3x
door should lock then unlock
push any button on transmitter 2x
locks should cycle again
if you have any more remotes program them now also
when done turn key to on then off again.
get out close door and see if it works

these are straight from a friend at the mazda dealer and worked perfectly to program my 3 new remotes.

I have a 2001 ES 2.0 and I bought a remote off ebay that came with the instructions but It does not work.

Question:

by pushing the drivers side dome switch three times does it mean unlock and lock it three times or just press the lock button three times?
