We'll after alot of thought I decided to get rid of my just finished Kenwood Excelon and Pheonix Gold stereo. I am now the proud owner of a JL Audio 12" w7 sub and JL 1000/1 amplifier. I should have it installed and pictures taken by next week. Let me tell you the box for this 12 is HUGE! It'll have an inch of clearance width-wise and I won't be able to fit the cargo cover back in-place because of the box's height. If anyone else has w7's would you mind filling me in on how you like them so far? thanx

wow, that sounds pretty big. i cannot use the hatch cover either cause i mis-measured and am about 1/4in off, but i'm cool with that for now. how much airspace you have in that box? i'm running two 12's and each chamber sports about 1.5cuft. are you porting your box or something? sounds like you're getting about 2cuft or so... (assuming the box is not angled).

can't wait to see the pics.

If you can find a copy of Auto sound & Security from last month, they had a small article about a guy from Atlanta who put TWO JL 12w7's (arent they 13w7's anyway?) in his Protege5. Not an eye-popping install, but they are in a pretty sweet custom fiberglass box. Not bad.
