Look underneath the handle - you'll see a "slot" - might be near a screw, but I can't remember. Anyway, stick a screwdriver in there and pry up - that's what the slot is there for. The handles just pop off, no screws.

What are you painting them with? Whatever it is, I hope it is a vinyl dye type product - no regualr paint will stick to them for very long, and the flexibility of them will make most every normal paint crack. Be sure to use something specifically made for dashboards/vinyl/flexible surfaces.

And assuming it comes out good - post some pix! And let us know what product you used!

I originally used Folitec's products to paint, but the colour wasn't what I was looking for, so I sanded/scotchbrighted the parts down and I am currently using Kryton's (or Krydon's?) primer for vinyl and Kryton's gineric paint. It is hard to work with (long drying time) though. I used 4 coats of primer and 6 coats of paint (but the coats are very thin, almost not totally covering surface).
What I have completed I have received many comments, only one person said,
"That's too much!" . Obviously NOT a car person!
I'll post some pics when I'm done, I have lights to add under the dash too!
