Hood Hydraulics

I've seen a couple of cars that have hydraulics like on a van's door in the back to open the hood once you press the black lock inside (under the hood). Has anyone done this or know if it's possible? and if it is possible what type of hydraulic lifters do I need? Thanks!

I was thinking the exact same thing... I'll have a look at work for the ones that fit the Intrigue and see how much they are. Once you pop the hood with the little release thing, you'll still have to go to the front of the car to unlatch it. After that, it should just pop up and be held without a hood rod. Good idea! Now I know what I want to do next!
