has anyone painted Calipers on a white ES 02

I Just recently bought my White ES And the first mod I wanted to do and have found to be easy is to paint the calipers. Has any one painted theirs on a white car? If so what color did you use? I was thinking red. I am still convincing the wife but I think it would look nice with red. DOes any one have pictures.

2002.5 white ES

How hard is it to paint the calipers? I have a 99 white ES.

paint calipers

It dosent look hard at all I think I am going to do mine this weekend. The hardest part is making sure you tape everything up good. Perform a search on caliper paint and you will find a tech article on how to. it tis a really good article.

Not hard at all. You spend most of your time prepping and masking. I used a wire brush on them first and then a spray brake cleaner.
If you brush on the paint there is no need for masking. I used Duplicolor's Metalcast paint (spray paint) in blue. Came out real nice...sorry no pics.

It's a super simple mod you can do yourself. I did it when it was time to rotate my tires, so they had to all come off anyways. Make sure you mask everything right and use a high heat, high gloss paint. I used a black high-gloss BBQ paint I bought from the local hardware store for $5 a can, and one can was more than sufficient. Do 2 light coats instead of one heavy coat and wait about 30 minutes between coats (depending on the type of paint you use).

There's a tech page on the protege5online website:

Good luck!
